Meet Danikia, a talented artist residing and working in Pasadena, California. When she's not busy creating, she commutes to San Diego to visit her family and the beach. Her artist name is a tribute to her father Daniel, who was affectionately called Danikia by his mother and grandmother. Dani's name is a way of honoring their memory.
Aside from her art, Dani is also a set decorator and buyer in the film industry. You might even spot some of her works in the background of commercials and television shows. Dani's art is a reflection of her calming personality and her love for nature. When she's not working on her art or film projects, Dani can be found hiking in the nearby mountains or enjoying a cup of coffee at her favorite local cafe. She loves exploring new places and trying new things.
Matilija Poppy Collection
With a keen eye for beauty, Dani is crafting a stunning Matilija Poppy Collection. After spotting these vibrant poppies bursting out of Pasadena's sidewalks, she was inspired to create a line of art pieces. George Swede says, the flower grows in the crack because “nothing else matters.” Life grows despite. Each one is carefully nestled in a repurposed gold gilded frame, found at thrift stores and estate sales, giving them a new lease of life.
The Matilija Poppy Collection showcases the delicate yet bold nature of these flowers, with each piece uniquely capturing their essence. It's clear that Dani has a deep appreciation for the natural world and a talent for bringing its beauty to life through her art. The Matilija Poppy Collection is not only visually stunning, but also serves as a reminder to stop and appreciate the little things that make life so beautiful.
